In a tweet, army’s Chinar Corps had said that one militant was killed in Haphruda and the operation was still in progress. Police control room Handwor informed that a cordon and search operation was launched in Hangikoot forest area of Wilgam on Tuesday morning. “Reportedly an encounter has ensued. Since the area is very remote and communication network is very weak, we can’t say with surety what is the latest update,” an official manning PCR Handwor had told the Hindustan Times. The police returned Shahid’s body to his family, stating that he was killed in a gunfight. Reports from the village said that the family has refused to bury Shahid and massive protests have erupted between locals and government forces. There was no official comment available yet.
